Emma de Sigaldi was born in Karlsruhe, Germany in 1910 and died in Monaco in 2010. Close to the Bauhaus movement she initially started her career as a ballet dancer. After her marriage to Count Felix de Sigaldi she moved to Monaco where she started sculpting. Her most famous works are still part of the city's urban landscape as in the case of the « Diver » and the « Column of Life ». Her talent soon transformed her into an internationally respected artist with solo and group exhibitions being organised in Paris, Sao Paulo, Hong Kong, Milan, Rome and Saint Petersburg.
