Robert Indiana was an American artist born in 1928. After having joined the Pop Art movement in 1954 his works started acquiring the typical features and style he is best known for. Mainly working with linear, simple yet iconic images, Indiana's graphic is akin to that of advertisement. Nonetheless the essentiality of terms such as "EAT", "HUG" and "LOVE" are always associated and supported by an insightful reflection on their ultimate meaning or else by a critique addressed to the us we make of them.
