The Contemporary Art Forum was presented by Kamil Art Gallery at the Caudan Arts Centre in Port Louis, Mauritius, from April 7 to May 20, 2026. Conceived under the theme “Lines and Colours of Hope,” the inaugural edition brought together eight international artists across painting, sculpture, drawing, and photography.
Featuring Jordane Saget, Eric Massholder, Quim Bou Serrano, Sabala, Fernando Martinez Garcia, Stéphane Chavanis, Jordan Matter, and Anthony Alberti (Mr One Teas), the forum reflected the gallery’s commitment to showcasing diverse contemporary practices while fostering global artistic dialogue and meaningful community engagement.
Beyond the exhibition, the forum incorporated a dynamic programme of workshops and public talks, inviting students and the wider public to engage directly with the artists. Two curator-led roundtable discussions, streamed live online, explored connections between artistic practices, ecology, and creative responsibility.
At the heart of the project was a partnership with Fight Aids Monaco and its supported centre, Chrysalide, a refuge for women and children affected by domestic violence in Mauritius. Through charity events - including auctions and fundraising initiatives - the forum contributed to supporting Chrysalide’s psychological, legal, and social reintegration programmes.
This collaborative spirit extended into the creation of two collective artworks, developed over the course of the event with local participants and unveiled during the exhibition, reinforcing the forum’s vision of art as a shared and socially engaged experience.
